8 families graduate at Tui Glen School, Lower Hutt

8 families graduated from Tui Glen School’s Computers in Homes on Tuesday 28 June. A cool brisk evening did not keep people away and Principal Philip Benson was blown away by the community support for the programme at his school.
What a wonderful evening and talk about full house! We had to keep getting more chairs out.
Representatives from Koraunui Marae came to support their staff who are CIH parents. Hon Tariana Turia, Leader of the Maori Party and Minister of the Community and Voluntary Sector attended with her PA Kat Paton. Hutt City Mayor Ray Wallace could not attend, so councillors Gwen McDonald and Angus Finlayson came in his place. Family and friends came to support their loved ones and the children were great. Tech support Peter Wright introduced himself to the parents and outlined the process for technical help.
After the formal ceremony we shared supper in the staffroom and families took their computers home. We wish them all the best with their computing at home.
